As I left Beigan, I didn't book the hostel in advance for the night as I didn't make any plans of my journey. Of course I got some ideas in mind- wether started from east or west. Anyway, I finally settled myself in Jinsha village (west of the island). Then I walked along the footpath to Iron Fort. It was a major base for military frogmen and an important defense of the island due to its shape and strategic location(according to David Hsu, China post 2006 July)
A guard sheltr built for German Shepherds.
There is a tunnel underneath where the army used to live, it was quite dark. As i was standing at the entrance at the end of that tunnel, I heard a big bang coming from inside the tunnel. I was so scared that I ran out of that place. That was the first time I felt a bit afraid during the journey and again I was the only turist there.
Next spot: Beihai Tunnel in Nangan
entrance where the landing craft could come in, now it's blocked.
After that, I went to the information centre and it's just 2 minutes walk from Beihai Tunnel. The Dahan Stronghold is also very close to it. having the experience in Iron Fort, I dare not to went in because it was dark inside. Therefore, I just took a pic from outside. Ha!!
Then I walked to Matsu Folklord Culture Museum, I met a woman soldier on my way there. She showed me a shortcut.
Inside the Museum
On my way back to Jinsha village, I was lost again. Finally I decided to ask someone, I stopped a motocyclist. Thank God! He actually lives in Jinsha and was on his way home. So he gave me a lift. The fact was the road I took went through mountains, it takeslonger to go to Jinsha than the road go along the coast (the one I took in the afternoon). I could walk till night and still on my way back!!!God has been really nice to me!
The guesthouse I live in Jinsha. Again I was the only one lived in such a big house.
