A friend of mine who has just back to N.I from Mexico sent me an email to say hi. She said that she felt great to go back to the first world and have hot water to shower everyday. She felt lucky.
It brought me back those memories of my one year stay in the North-West of China. During those days, there was no bed and no toilet (the restroom was built outside of the house with mud), no hot water to shower, actually not even cold water, during my stay in the countryside. We had to light wood to cook, like boy scouts. had been took truck with pigs. Those were experiences that I would never possibe to have if I always stayed in Taiwan. I had to admit though that those were wonderful memories. I felt like I was on the time machine and traveling back in time to centries ago. I felt I am like Alice in wonerland. Having said that, it is not fair saying this way as life is not easy for ppl who lives there. But I really thank God for those days and those experiences. What an amazing world God has opened for me. It was precious for me. Hope I will have chance to go back to visit my missionary friends again soon.
